The Curated Life
We have always believed that the things we choose to surround ourselves with tell a story.
Atelier by the Sea is rooted in a simple belief: that the books we read, the art we admire, and the objects we welcome into our homes quietly shape the way we experience the world.
Inspired by the timeless beauty of the New England coast, Atelier is a thoughtfully curated home for books, antiques, artwork, and seasonal collections. It is a place for readers, collectors, and anyone who finds joy in the simple beauty of everyday things.
Every piece is chosen for the story it tells, the craftsmanship it reflects, or the feeling it evokes. Some have remarkable histories. Others possess a timeless charm that makes them impossible to leave behind.
We believe the most meaningful collections are built slowly, one thoughtfully piece at a time. Not because they are perfect, but because they mean something to the people who gather them.
More than anything, we hope Atelier by the Sea becomes a place you'll return to often, a place where every collection holds something unexpected, every object has a story, and there's always an invitation to linger a little longer.
A Note from the Curator
I've always loved the quiet thrill of discovering something unexpected, a forgotten novel tucked onto the bottom shelf of a bookshop, a weathered oil painting hidden in the corner of an antique store, or a simple piece of pottery whose beauty reveals itself only after you've held it in your hands.
Those moments have shaped the way I collect, decorate, and curate, and ultimately, the vision behind Atelier by the Sea.
I live in Rhode Island with my husband, Ryan, our three daughters, Logan, Carlin, and Juliette, our dog Bruce, our kitten Winnie, and a small flock of backyard chickens. As a family, we spend as much time as we can by the water, especially during the summer. Some of our favorite days are spent exploring New England's coastal villages, wandering independent bookshops, browsing antique stores, and discovering the quiet places that make this corner of the world feel so special.
The rhythm of those days has shaped the way I curate this collection. I'm drawn to books that linger long after the final page, antiques that have lived a life before finding a new home, and beautiful objects that invite us to slow down and notice the everyday. I hope every piece you discover here carries a little of that same feeling.
I rarely set out looking for something specific. Instead, I wait for the pieces that quietly insist on coming home with me. More often than not, those unexpected discoveries become the ones I treasure most, and the ones I'm most excited to share.
Thank you for spending a little time here. I hope you find something that feels as though it was waiting just for you.
With love,
Kelsey
